CAV Aerospace manages end-to-end activities with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (Syteline) ERP
CAV Aerospace based in Consett (North East of England) is a niche manufacturer of aircraft SPARS for some of the biggest aeroplane companies in the world, producing from alloy material a contiguous product up to 30 meters long.
Working alongside aircraft engineers, CAV assists in the design, testing, analysis, manufacture, integration and approval of unique technology solutions to overcome critical safety challenges and increase the efficiency of flight.

The project
The ERP system in place was Syteline ver 8.00.11 which had been in place for 8 years prior to the engagement of Frontstep, with elementary standard implementation being used.
Frontstep were asked to come in and give review of the current functionality after having worked on another ERP project implementation at “ImmunoDiagnostic Systems” as a precursor to a possible upgrade to Syteline 10. During this time Frontstep identified some quick wins on the existing Syteline version which would add benefit to the company with little effort from existing CAV personnel while providing instant payback on productivity and feedback for management information.
Projects such as Purchase Requisition and Purchase Workflow implementation had quick benefits on spend control, Integration of off line forecast modeller to provide one version of the truth integration and other small improvements completed while upgrade project was being scoped.

During time at CAV aerospace, the no nonsense approach by Frontstep was appreciated by senior management and helped in cutting through any political agenda, with the quality of staff at a technical level at an extremely high standard, both on site and off shore which enabled quick implementations to be completed. After working with Frontstep on two successful projects, I have no qualms in recommending them for any ERP project in the future.
